Williamsville House Painters
As a former Amherst resident of 35 years, when we say we know these homes, we mean it. Carrigan Painting was founded in 2010 just off North Forest Road, and we’ve spent the last 15+ years restoring plaster, painting interiors, and repairing ceilings across Williamsville. (And yes, Go Billies!)
We do one house at a time, not because we’re slow, but because the type of projects we do demands it. While a lot of painting companies race to finish and move on to the next house, we’re not built that way. We move efficiently, but never at the expense of quality. We're not painting 30 houses a summer — we’re restoring ceilings, fixing plaster, and doing the kind of detailed restorations that doesn’t always fit into a “fast and done” business model.
We use the brush and roll method because it’s cleaner, quieter, and more precise. We rarely spray unless the home is unoccupied, like new builds or unfinished basement ceilings, where we may spray primer and ceilings before trim goes in. Otherwise, every wall, ceiling, and detail is painted by hand.

Professional Ceiling Repair and Painting
Williamsville homes offer a wide range of wall and ceiling systems, depending on age and location. The Village of Williamsville often features wood-lath or rock-lath plaster, while the neighborhoods north of Maple Road are primarily drywall construction.
While some painters attempt to patch plaster ceilings with drywall techniques, it rarely blends correctly. Plaster and drywall compounds behave differently—plaster dries hard and smooth, while drywall compound has a softer texture and visible grain. Without skilled finesse, a repair may flash or show through the paint. At Carrigan Painting, we specialize in ceiling repairs that match the original finish, whether it's traditional plaster or modern drywall.

Ceiling Painters in Williamsville
Ceilings take more abuse than most people realize, especially in kitchens, where cooking stains, heat, and steam slowly discolor the surface. We repair minor damage, pole sand, and repaint dirty or stained ceilings using two coats of premium ceiling paint which avoids excess overspray and leaves a uniform finish. For textured ceilings like sand swirls, we’ll recommend the right sheen such as eggshell or matte, to enhance the texture without highlighting flaws.
